Brining the Doubting Thomas Farms Brand to Life
Why invest in branding?
Your logo is the first impression that people see when being introduced to your company. Your brand’s logo has the power to determine a potential consumer’s immediate outlook of your brand.
To stand out in the sea of brands your future clients are faced with everyday, it's important to tap into the potential your logo has as an opportunity to influence the perception people have.
Start with a good foundation in mind:
Tap into the history and story of the brand. Doubting Thomas Farms has good bones. Noreen Thomas, founder and local producer of Minnesota already had established great rapport with her client base and community. The goal was to give her visual branding that outwardly reflected and built upon what she's created to tell her brand's story.
Summarize your brand concept in three words:
During the design process, we visited the Doubting Thomas Farm to take in the essence and culture first hand. Intensional, Kindred and Authentic are all words that describe the feelings evoked by the farm.
Pull ideas from something unique:
The hand-drawn characters added charm and we're influential to the design of the logo as well as the packaging. The green tones and wheat symbolize elements of the farm and were included in two logo design options.
Choose a Style that Fits Your Brand:
The grounded-meets-classic design of option two ultimately spoke to their team. Once completed, we incorporated it into the label and package design, along with a variety of additional marketing materials.
We look forward to phase two of the Doubting Thomas Farms project which will included extensive package design, market research and further development to their brand's presence.
Note from the designer Kay Cote:
This project personally speaks to me as I grew up on a farm. Visiting the farm and seeing it first hand reminds me of all the years I spent enjoying my childhood on the family farm. From kittens roaming around to picking apples off the trees to watching the sunset in the distance through the trees, the feelings of nostalgia warmed my heart and got me excited to create something that spoke to the brand.
